US Anti-Trafficking Act Receives Renewed Funding

Donald Trump has signed off on a bill to re-authorise federal funding for human trafficking prevention and assistance programs.

The act provides $430 million dollars of funding for “trafficking prevention and education, victim protection and stronger government prosecution of traffickers through to 2022. $78 million of this is allocated to the Department of Health and Human Services to fund child friendly education on trafficking prevention. The US Department of Labor will receive $20 million to fund programs that encourage supply chains free of trafficking in both the public and private sectors.
