Module overview

This module provides a broad overview of global modern slavery legislation and United Nations Human Rights treaties. Together with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, these international treaties set the context for regional and Australian modern slavery legislation.

Target Audience

It is targeted at all staff including the Board, senior management, contractors and external stakeholders including suppliers.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this module you will understand which countries have, or are in the process of, enacting laws requiring businesses to take action on modern slavery risks.

You will also have a clear understanding of the current legislative framework for managing and mitigating modern slavery risks, and prosecuting modern slavery crimes in Australia.
